A BENEFIT CONCERT entitled “One Love Manchester” will take place this Sunday, the 4th of June at Emirates Old Trafford in memory of the victims of last weeks terror attack. The venue has a capacity of 50,000.
In an extremely admirable and courageous move, Ariana Grande will be performing, not even a full fortnight after the attack on her concert. The support acts backing her up are Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrel Williams, Usher, Take That and Niall Horan.
All net ticket proceeds from the show will go towards the “We Love Manchester Emergency Fund”, set up by Manchester council in partnership with the British Red Cross. Tickets for the event will be on sale this Thursday at 10:00am.
The fund has already raised in excess of £6 million for the families of those who have been injured or bereaved by the attack. Any fans who were in attendance of her Manchester show last Monday are offered free tickets if they register by 4pm on Wednesday 31st of May.
The plans for the concert were announced on Friday when Grande made a powerful public statement.
The concert will be broadcast on BBC Television, BBC Radio and Capital Radio Networks. The BBC is the host broadcaster for international networks. It will also be streamed worldwide online, but a digital partner has yet to be announced.
